Congratulations to the five NSW Institute of Sport athletes that have been selected in the Australian squad that will attend the UCI Road World Cycling Championship in Varese, Italy.
Backing up from his Olympic campaign will be Bradley McGee, who has been a member of the World Championship team since 1998. McGee will be a strategic member of Australia’s Road Race team hoping to bring home a medal at these championships.
McGee will be joined in the men’s team by NSWIS athletes Mark Renshaw, and Chris Sutton, who both race professionally with teams based in Europe and America. The men’s squad will be cut to just nine riders for the road race and two for the time trial.

Rochelle Gilmore will be looking to add another title to her growing list, going into the event as the reigning Oceania Continental Champion. The women’s squad will be cut to seven riders for the road race and three for the time trial.
