Japan outplay Hockeyroos

July 6 2008

Despite a late goal to NSWIS player Casey Eastham the Hockeyroos went down 3-1 to a well-drilled Japanese outfit in the third test of their four test series in Japan.

The Hockeyroos were the more attacking of the two sides but they failed to convert their chances.

Hockeyroos coach Frank Murray told Hockey Australia: ”We were outplayed in stifling conditions by a more determined Japanese team, where it took us seven penalty corners before we scored our goal.”

The last match of the series will be played on July 8.

Eastham is joined in Japan by NSWIS scholarship holders Fiona Johnson, Kate Hollywood and Megan Rivers.
