Butturini shines but NSW can only manage second

NSW has taken out silver after a hotly contested final against Queensland, at the Australian Under-21 Hockey Championships in Darwin.

The game was played at a fast pace with NSWIS hockey player James Piper scoring first for NSW. That was all the scoring NSW would do till late ion the game when down 4-1 and Matthew Butturini and Tristan White got it back to 4-3 before running out of time.

NSW captain Butturini, a current NSWIS scholarship holder, was a top performer through the tournament. NSWIS also had scholarship holders  Scott Garner, Kieran Govers, Ian Paterson, Josh White and EAP athlete Tristan White gain selection into the Australian U21 development squad.
