NSWIS Cyclist Stephen Wooldridge

In 1996 Stephen Wooldridge OAM (born October 17 1977) made his Australian debut. In 2001 Wooldridge won the Oceania title in the team pursuit and picked up silver medals in the madison and individual pursuit. He capped off the year with his first individual pursuit national title.

In 2002, Wooldridge won the World Championship as well a Commonwealth Games gold medal in the team pursuit. In 2004, Wooldridge continued Australia's domination of the World Championships and his third consecutive gold in the team pursuit. He also picked up an Olympic gold medal in the men's team pursuit.
 
Wooldridge’s more recent achievements include winning his fourth World Championship in the team pursuit and a silver medal at the 2006 Commonwealth Games.
 
Wooldridge has been an NSWIS Scholarship holder in the Cycling Program since 1998. In 2002 and 2006 he won the NSWIS Outstanding Achievement Award (Male). He was also a finalist for the NSWIS Male Athlete of the Year and Team Athlete of the Year Awards in 2006 and the NSWIS Academic Excellence Award in 2005.
